Their previous musical experiences were very opposite: González came from a thrash-metal band called Koervoz de Malta, and Rosso from an avant-garde group called Acarnienses. Jonas liked Sepultura, Soda Stereo, and Mano Negra; whereas Rosso liked Antonio Carlos Jobim, John Coltrane and lots of classical music.

Jonás is the lead singer and guitar player. Alejandro Rosso is more involved with the creative process, providing most of the instrumentation and occasional background vocals.

As of 2005 they have released three studio records. The band has achieved, since the release of their 1997 single-debut ‘Niño Bomba’, both critical and commercial success. The group often mixes several music styles like rap, dance and rock while often switching between English, Spanish and several other languages in the same song.

They received nominations for Best New Artist in many local awards, and then, the American MTV played their video, making them one of the first rock en español bands video to make a crossover.

Her name being the French for ‘beautiful’, Belle aspires to encourage women of all ages to have a positive self image and discover their own inner beauty. Belle’s music communicates a delicately beautiful blend of coffee-house indie with piano tinged vocal pop, drawing on earthy, woody tones, above which Belle’s sometimes melancholy, but always hopeful voice is allowed to soar.

Originally from a small Australian country town of Mittagong, Belle began writing her own songs at 15 as a way of dealing with her own complex teen relationships. In 2009 she moved to New York and was soon after signed by Florida-based indie label, Ingenious Records.

Starting in 1948, Scatman recorded individual tracks and several albums for various record labels. In 1975, he met record producer/songwriter Andrew A. Swirsky was an award-winning, staff songwriter for many years with Warner/Chappell Music and EMI Music where he wrote worldwide #1 hits, including Taylor Dayne’s, “Tell it to My Heart” and “Prove Your Love”.

He grew up in Great Neck, New York and went to Dartmouth College. At age 19, he wrote the national jingle for Thomas’s English Muffins.
Before he knew it, the biggest pop acts of the day — Air Supply, Olivia Newton John, Al Green, Tina Turner and Jane Weidlin of the Go Gos — were recording his songs.

In between music projects, Swirsky created three bestselling books for Random House that consisted of handwritten letters to him from old baseball players with personal and poignant accounts of their lives on and off the field.

His love of the history of the game got him into collecting historic baseball memorabilia like the ball that went through Bill Buckner’s legs in the 1986 World Series.

A self-named “Manic Expressive”, next year, Swirsky’s first full length documentary comes out. It’s called Beatles Stories and is made up of people who have a story about themselves and the Fab Four. Swirsky interviewed an array of people for the film including, Sir George Martin, Sir Ben Kingsley, Art Garfunkel, Graham Nash, Smokey Robinson and many others.

He lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Jody Gerson and their three children, Julian (15), Luke (7) and Daisy Claire (5). Swirsky enjoys sushi and looking through kaleidoscopes, not necessarily in that order.

Major General was made in six days, after two rehearsals with the band, a chaotic show at DIY promoter Todd P’s Death By Audio warehouse space, and three days of tracking, drinking, and feasting with James Frazee (The Hold Steady). “Jeff Penalty” was produced in a separate session with legendary NYC hardcore producer Don Fury (Cro-Mags, Gorilla Biscuits) at his Coney Island studio overlooking the freak show. FRANZ finished with a few days of overdubs and then handed it off to John Agnello (The Hold Steady, Dinosaur Jr., Sonic Youth) for a proper mix.

Major General is rich with tales of punk-rock disillusionment (“World/Inferno Vs. VHS OR BETA has always been a proponent of dance music; the hybrid band that rides the line between rock and dance. Not this time. The new single, “Feel it When You Know” doesn’t hide behind a wall of guitars because there ARE no guitars. For the very first time in over a decade, VHS OR BETA are now producers of their own music and this is by far their boldest step into the world of electro and house.

On “Feel it When You Know” the only lyrics are “you feel it when you know it’s love” repeated until the track seems to crash and burn only to rebuild again into a massive repetition of the title until you, YES YOU are singing right along during your very first listen!

Why this? Why now? VHS have never been content to be “comfortable.” Dance music is still something that the guys believe hasn’t yet been given a proper audience in the US. The live band always causes a dancing frenzy, as do the VHS OR BETA Dee Jays. So why not make the music purely THAT: dance music. For the next few months the band will be digitally releasing a series of singles to keep you guessing what they’ll do next. The singles will be accompanied by world-class remixes to further the options the Djs have. LA RIOTS, fresh off of a world tour made time to remix the track during their hectic schedule. Jackson, who re-located to Seattle from Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2009, is the musician’s musician in every sense of the phrase. He credits great artists such as Danny Elfman, DJ Premier and Stevie Wonder as some of his biggest influences and inspirations; he also continues to make his mark on the radar as a DJ in the Seattle area.

The duo formed in the winter of 2010 under the name Sugar Water Purple, but soon disbanded the moniker after discovering another group with the same name already existed, thus birthing Fly Moon Royalty. Their style remains soulful, but at the same time experiments with electronic textures, which makes up the backbone of their sound. Your ear is immediately keen to their influences drawn from the golden era of Hip Hop as well as a deep feel of 60’s influenced jazz and soul sounds, all of these are key elements that create the rebel dance music that is Fly Moon Royalty. Their sound touches upon familiarity, but it’s not approached in any traditional manner. Fly Moon Royalty has been compared to the Gossip, Janelle Monae and Gnarls Barkly.

After recording their self- titled debut project and releasing it independently in early 2011, Fly Moon Royalty caught the ear of DeVon Manier, President of Seattle based indie Hip Hop label Sportn’ Life Records. The two entities partnered and re-released the album as a joint effort.

Fly Moon Royalty is just getting started and if the response so far is any indication to the future, the group has a bright one.

Ultimately, they just couldn’t stay away from the music, which draws on years of life experience, and they couldn’t deny their growing audiences who return night after night to hear songs about motherhood, war, country and cancer, songs about people and life and what it means to be human.

From a very young age, Cid d Kid developed a passion for the art of sound. He was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and later moved to South Florida to pursue a degree in Commercial Music and International Business. Shortly after, he then moved to New York to obtain an Audio Engineer Degree and stayed in the city to begin his professional musical career. Having influences from all kinds of music, he always describes that there isn’t bad music, just bad songs. Although he has produced all types of music, his true inclination is working on club music projects as he enjoys producing and remixing the vibe that ultimately get’s people on the dance floor.

Cid d Kid has mixed and mastered hit albums such as Pilot Talk and Pilot Talk II from rap artist Curren$y which debuted at number 39 on the Billboards 200 Charts and number 2 on iTunes; the 24 hr Karate School album featuring top hip hop artists including The Cool Kids, Jim Jones, Wiz Khalifa, Jay Electronica, Camp Lo, Tabi Bonney, Joell Ortiz, Jean Grae and many others which earned solid notoriety in the US and Japan. Pilot Talk, Pilot Talk II and the 24 hr Karate School productions were considered one of the best Hip Hop albums of 2010 by Pitchfork TV, Kevin Nottingham, …Ology.

As a head engineer for Damon Dash’s DD172/BluRoc label he was able to work on multiple projects and in early 2010 Cid d Kid teamed up with DJ Jhon Izaak and formed Elektro Nerdz, an Electro House act, together releasing the hit single “Bad Bad Dream”.

Cid d Kid lives in New York City where he manages Sweet Sound Studios located in the East Village which is the home where he produces and remixes all of his projects. He is currently working on his solo project called “A Thousand Miles”.

Lately teamed up with House Legend Todd ‘God’ Terry and placed his anticipated single ‘Slaves to the Beat’ on Todd Terry’s Studio Session Album. Also released Pop star Natalia Flores ‘Dumb’ Cid D Kid Paradise Club Mix, both available on Beatport, Juno, Traxsource, iTunes, Amazon etc etc.

Agatsuma participated in San Paulo, Brazil’s celebration of the 100th anniversary of Japan-Brazil Exchange. This event was followed by a highly successful tour of Milan, Italy and Russia. Agatsuma also performed at the opening ceremony of the Moto Grand Prix in Japan broadcast in 207 countries around the world.

Pattie has been busy, developing a pilot for a music industry oriented interview show for television. Like Cher, Tina Turner, and Bonnie Raitt, Pattie is set to show the world that hot women – like good wine – just keep getting better with time. She intends to present that image on the show, and will be bringing on some of the many music industry talents that she has encountered and worked with during her career, including Donna Summer, Teena Marie, and Paula Abdul, as well as introducing new discoveries who are on the cutting edge.

Besides her television project, she is working on material for a new CD. She has recorded a reworking of the novelty hit “The Name Game,” complete with the very wildest contemporary names woven into the classic lyric. To complement the powerful energy of “After Dark 2006″ and “The Name Game,” the full length collection will include “Sweet Temptation,” a self-penned sexy and steamy number perfect for that “morning music” set. This down-tempo R&B number builds on a funky base line, with house-style piano riffs, a suggestive sax solo, and retro wah-wah guitar supporting Pattie’s seductive vocals.

These tracks shows off only a few of the many sounds to be heard from the ever-unpredictable Pattie. One minute she is hard at work doing vocals for national commercials, the next minute writing for a soundtrack project, as she has with such gems as “Hang Up the Phone” from Sixteen Candles or the soundtrack to Dr. Detroit. When she’s not in the studio, this daughter of an Army Captain, no stranger to seeing the country courtesy of the U.S.A., packs up her bags and hits the road, being one of the first acts to take advantage of invading the dance clubs and doing track dates so that everyone has an opportunity to see a taste of her high energy show.

In between dates on the road to support her new release, Pattie will complete her new CD, Back to My Future, which will include a relentlessly energetic “Night” medley of classics (in the tradition of the great albums of Gloria Gaynor and Donna Summer) culminating with “After Dark 2006,” and continue with new directions in original material and selected covers, with a number of the originals written by the talented songstress.

In 1977 Sporty released an album, Mr. Rhythm on his own Konduko label.

He later moved to Miami, Florida and began producing music there under his Tashamba and Konduko labels. He evolved from reggae to funk to disco to electro to Miami bass between the 1970s and 1980s. Sporty found lasting hits in the electro funk canon with Connie Case’s “Get on Down” and “Haven’t Been Funked Enough”, under his Ex Tras moniker when he made licensing deals with Tommy Boy Records in 1982.

After many years off, Sporty returned to producing electro and his Sporty moniker, with his track “Computer Age”, credited to Sporty and the Laptop.

Sporty is married to the American soul and rhythm and blues singer, Betty Wright.

Around the year 2000 the indie-rock scene was practically nonexistent in Mexico. However, things would change dramatically in the following years. As a new breed of young bands started flooding the scene, the emerging indie-DIY subculture took over, placing a newfound emphasis on independence and artistic integrity. Chikita Violenta was suddenly among the country’s pioneer bands in the new Mexican indie wave.

After a couple of self-released EPs, Chikita Violenta enlisted David Newfeld (Broken Social Scene, Super Furry Animals) to produce their new material. After sending demos back and forth to Toronto, and the band making three trips to the Stars & Suns studio over the next two years, Chikita Violenta’s debut album The Stars & Suns Sessions was finally completed.

The debut album features collaborations from members of the Broken Social Scene family, including founders Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning. Newfeld’s guidance gives The Stars & Suns Sessions a unique blend, texture and sound, creating a cohesive and organic pop-cloud that has immediately made its mark on the indie scene and beyond .

Born in Toronto to Danish and Polish/Canadian parents, the city’s multiculturalism was a perfect fit for her. The myriad of influences around her helped to create her own style. Her upbringing was never short on culture or flavor. While in University Kelly had a light bulb moment – she had no interest in what she was studying. It was this landmark event where she said, “Let’s do it!” The first day in the studio solidified her feeling and she realized her heart would lie in creating music.

After positive feedback from family and peers, and some hustle to get people to listen, Kelly received elevated work ethic and confidence from the music industry. Television producers came knocking on Kelly’s door in 2007 and picked up three of her original songs. “Can’t Change Me”, “What a Trip” and “Shine On” were featured on the highly rated Canadian series ‘Da Kink In My Hair’.

In early 2008, Kelly ventured to New York City to solidify her ambitions and continue on her musical journey. This new inspirational city and creative playground was the perfect match to create new music. In a chance meeting with legendary DJ, Remixer & Producer Todd Terry a new partnership was born. With an instant bond and mutual respect, their collaboration created Kelly’s soulful, dance sound.

The Black Seeds started turning heads around New Zealand following the release of their debut album, 2001’s Keep On Pushing. The album received widespread critical acclaim, including being named one of the top 50 albums of the year by Rip It Up Magazine, and eventually reached gold sales status. The group’s second studio album, 2004’s On The Sun, added a heavy dose of funk and soul to the dub reggae sound that underpinned Keep On Pushing. On The Sun debuted at #3 on the New Zealand album charts, achieving double platinum sales and solidifying The Black Seeds’ status as one of New Zealand’s premier groups. Album single ‘So True’ was one of the most popular New Zealand songs of 2005, receiving massive support from commercial radio and music television, while singles ‘Turn It Around’ and ‘Fire’ received widespread airplay on bNet radio.

Following on from the success of their first two studio albums, The Black Seeds release their highly anticipated new album Into The Dojo. Into The Dojo began to take shape in May 2005, when band members Barnaby Weir (lead vocals/guitar), Daniel Weetman (percussion/vocals), Mike ‘Fabulous’ August (guitar), Bret McKenzie (keys), Jarney Murphy (drums), Tim Jaray (bass) and Lee Prebble (sound engineer) once again converged on The Surgery studio in Wellington. The next 12 months were spent balancing constant touring duties and side projects with writing and jamming new songs in the studio. The result of this year-long creative process is 13 tracks of The Black Seeds’ most mature and accomplished music to date.

While Into The Dojo (named after the band’s practice room at The Surgery which was once a karate dojo) contains the elements that have characterised The Black Seeds’ music in the past, it also shows a great deal of development in the group’s sound. Song-writing duties have been shared throughout the band, while Daniel Weetman and Bret McKenzie have joined Barnaby Weir on lead vocal duties. Into The Dojo is produced by Lee Prebble and Mike Fabulous, and features new rhythm section Tim Jaray and Jarney Murphy who joined the band in late 2004.

Into The Dojo is released to double-platinum success in New Zealand on EMI, and in Europe through Berlin-based Sonar Kollektiv. The summer of 2008 sees The Black Seeds play another grooving European tour including a performance at the prestigious Roskilde festival. Highly infectious and accessible, yet always credible and authentic, The Black Seeds’ music is fresh, organic and uplifting.

The first release from Reflections was the hit single “Nothing But You” with its yearning Norwegian vocals and the impassioned lyric line “I have nothing but I have got everything when I have got you” and quickly made its way onto mainstream radio stations worldwide.

The follow up single, “Time Of Our Lives”, is the result of Paul’s first collaboration with the rock band Vega 4 and was the first “live in concert” track Paul presented at his record release tour. “Time of Our Lives” reached the first position in German and English dance charts.

Shortly after the album’s third single “Crush” was released, Paul collaborated with Peter Heppner, singer of the band Wolfsheim, which resulted in the hit single “Wir sind Wir” (translation: This is Us). Both artists were inspired by the German TV documentary “Das Wunder von Bern”. The song illustrates the spirit and history of Germany and although lots of Germans in east and west lost their self-esteem, they are united and unafraid of what the future may bring.

Today, Paul’s touring diary is incredibly hectic with regular globetrotting stops at major venues in London, Tel Aviv, Mexico, New York and Singapore. Between all that, Berlin is always there and waiting — if not for the interviews and local club dates, then for looking after his own label Vandit, recording studio and his radio show Soundgarden which airs every Wednesday 2pm – 4pm (EST) on Fritz radio and over the internet (www.fritz.de).

It was during his college years as a film student at University of California at Santa Barbara when Johnson began writing songs. He and old mates Chris Malloy and Emmett Malloy produced a surf cinema documentary entitled Thicker Than Water, in turn spotlighting Johnson as a talented cinematographer as well as a burgeoning singer/songwriter. His peers in and around the surf circuit praised his work, and Thicker Than Water received props in Surfer magazine for Video of the Year during 2000. The follow-up surf flick The September Sessions also earned the Adobe Highlight Award at the ESPN Film Festival that same year.

Still, Johnson steered away from a blossoming pro sports career and stuck with music — something that would soon earn him additional honors. G. Love & Special Sauce quickly took notice to Johnson’s lazy blues stylings, which also molded folk and hip-hop for a modern rock twist, and included Johnson on “Rodeo Clowns” from G. Love’s 1999 release Philadelphonic. Johnson’s four-track demo also caught the ears of Ben Harper’s right-hand man, J.P. Plunier. This was surely mind-blowing for Johnson, for Harper’s college rock mainstay Fight for Your Mind was one of his favorites and remained an inspiration. Aside from Plunier’s production work, Harper also added his lap steel guitar work on Johnson’s sultry debut, Brushfire Fairytales (Enjoy Records), in winter 2001.

Two co-headlining tours followed throughout spring and summer 2002; Johnson’s sophomore effort, On and On, appeared in May 2003. Stateside dates with Harper followed in June and July. A third album, In Between Dreams arrived in March 2005, narrowly missing the top of the Billboard album chart in the process. Johnson earned two Brit Awards for In Between Dreams: International Male Solo Artist and International Breakthrough Act. In February, Johnson issued the soundtrack Curious George. Nielsen SoundScan sales topped at 163,000 copies in its first week of release, earning Johnson his first-ever number one album on Billboard’s Top 200 and Rock Albums charts.

With being in one of the world’s most competitive market for DJs, Nomad would study new techniques and search for the hottest records. Linking up with DJ/Producer Scotty Marz when the rave scene in the north east was booming, Nomad became part of the Kingsize USA crew. Kingsize was mostly known for their ‘Flavor’ series of parties and their weekly party ‘Bounce’. Bounce was Westchester County’s hottest afterhours bringing in top DJs like Dimitri from Dee-lite, Justin Johnson, Kelly Reverb, Micro, Crystal Method, Andy Hughes, D-Xtreme, Hector Romero, and Jackie Christie. 1996 saw Nomad still working with the Kingsize crew but also teaming up with up and coming super promoter Lenny Venice. Together, these two threw countless parties throughout Westchester County, New York City and Connecticut. Mostly famous for a club in White Plains called Emanon, an average night would bring in more than 1,000 people. Emanon brought in top name acts like Amber, TKA, Pink, Deborah Cox, Sugar Hill Gang and many more. With such a successful party Nomad was getting booked at other big name clubs such as Limelight, Tunnel, and then landing a residency at the legendary Sound Factory. Here Nomad got to be creative and experiment with different types of music and gained a bigger following outside of the city. Major corporations soon realized the impact of DJs and started using them for their events. Nomad was booked for parties by Tommy Hilfiger, Hustler Magazine, Armani Exhange, Vibe Style Shows, BET, CBS TV, and NBC TV. Nomad was seen on the Area 2 tour with David Bowie, Moby, Busta Rhymes, Tiesto, Carl Cox, John Digweed and many more. Satellite Record Shop was another stop along the way for Nomad. He became employed there working next to many DJs and producers. Here he met his production partner Quentin Harris. When these two get together they always produce some hot tribal beats and vocals. NoQue Recordings was established shortly after their budding success took off. Nomad lives life to the fullest everyday so you can catch him rocking beats in a major night club or lounge, and break dancing til the wee hours in the morning. Sorbara formed Dragonette in 2005 with her husband, bassist Dan Kurtz (formerly of the jazz and electronica-influenced Toronto-based jam band the New Deal), guitarist Simon Craig, and drummer Joel Stouffer. A self-released and self-titled demo that year attracted the attention of the U.K. office of Mercury Records, which offered the group a recording contract the following year. Herrera himself readily admits to being besotted by the romance of recklessness and rough-and-tumble living, the kind you’ll find at the heart of Empty Bottle. In fact, the album’s title track itself was inspired by the intimate relationship the band maintains with alcohol, even when they’re in the studio. “We average about one 750 ml bottle of vodka or whiskey at each session,” admits Herrera, “including regular practice. So, ‘Empty Bottle’ seemed to work as the title on many levels.” The songs were written by Herrera at tour stops all over the world, but the tracks were all laid down at home, in his own Bremerton, WA studio, Monkey Trench.

From the full-frontal cowpunk attack of the opening cut, “Places In This Town,” where the narrator braves harm to body and soul but forges ahead regardless, to closing track “Not Hung Over,” a classic morning-after-madness tale of a dizzy-headed drinking man’s denial, Empty Bottle offers an image of Americana that’s as true, tragic, tumultuous, and tantalizing as any you’ll get from some acoustic guitar-strumming folkie. You can call it alt-country if you want to, or even outlaw country, but for all the six-string twang and hell-bent two-steps that tumble out of these tunes, you can’t discount the pure rock & roll power Tumbledown brings to the table either.

So where’s it all headed? Well, in musing on the road that lies ahead of Tumbledown, Herrera says “I plan on releasing a lot more material much more often from now on.” In the meantime, there’s an Empty Bottle to open up night after night, for a different crowd each time. The old philosophical question about half-full vs. half-empty may not apply, but listening to these songs, it’s obvious that Mike Herrera and Tumbledown draw their energy from a source that says “Empty is okay for what’s inside the bottle – it’s what’s outside that matters.” And that’s exactly where Tumbledown is coming from.

Straight Up with a Twist may be Kristine W’s first official jazz recording, but jazz has been one of the singer’s greatest passions since early childhood. Growing up in Tri-Cities, Washington, her grandmother—a pianist, classical violinist and guitarist—exposed her to singers like Ella Fitzgerald and Carmen McRae. Kristine’s mother raised a family of five on her own by singing jazz and standards in local juke joints. At age nine, Kristine was singing with her mother. Soon, she was competing in local beauty pageants and some years later, it was her rendition of “Summer- time” that won her the talent competition at the Miss America Pageant.

“One of the reasons Straight Up with a Twist took four years to complete was because I insisted on bringing the best musicians to the project and scheduling time with these busy artists was complicated,” says Kristine. “This was my first foray into recording a jazz album. I figured if I was going to do it, I was going to do it right.” The end result is proof positive the wait was well worth it. The musicians on the album have toured with Carlos Santana, Marc Anthony, Paulinho Rubio, Diana Ross, Jeffrey Osborne and Paul McCartney. n the mid 90’s, the Ministry of Sound’s eponymous UK label released A Day In The Life, a collection of Todd Terry tracks that had been causing dance floor panic. All the while, Todd continued to break new ground as a Producer/Remixer. From SNAP to Annie Lennox to George Michael to Bjork, Todd’s mixes bridge the ground between club cool and commercial accessibility. In 1995, his remix for Everything But The Girl’s Missing became a worldwide smash, giving the British duo their first ever hit. He then rode the charts with mixes for Garbage (Stupid Girl), The Cardigans (Love Fool), Everything But The Girl (Wrong), 10,000 Maniacs (More Than This), Jamiroquai (Alright), The Cardigans (Been It), and The Lightning Seeds (You Showed Me),.among others. Naga aka Balazs Fejer started his music career in the end-of-eighties’ alternative era, debuting at Nap-Nap fest with his group Ivan Lendül. He was co-founder of the famous hungarian pirate radio called Tilos.

In the mid nineties he edited the techno-related column of Törökfürdo magazine (Turkish bath), and around the same time graduated as cultural anthropologist. An essay on the acid age turned him towards electronic music. Naga has been on the dance scene as dj since 1994.

At the time he became a recognized dj in Budapest with his remarkable techno sets. While dub, breakbeat, tribal and deep proghouse have become part of his style in the past few years, “Naga-fans” weren’t disappointed by the eclectic sets he played.

Jody Wisternoff’s influence and contribution to dance music cannot be overstated. Between breaking through to the DMC Hip Hop finals as a fresh faced 13 year old in 1986, and putting the finishing touches to his band’s fourth studio album in 2008 a lot has happened. His early 90’s act Sub Love were one of the largest draws on the UK Rave festival circuit and his hook up with Bristol dj Nick Warren in 1994 gave us the aforementioned Way Out West. With big singles (The Gift/ Ajare/ Mindcircus/ Killa) and big albums the majors came running and it produced their enormously prolific remix period touching up everyone from the fantastically cool to the fantastically desperate. The production duo also transformed into a 5 piece live act in support of the 2004 “Don’t look Now” album and Jody’s put out a few solo crackers in the interim with more to come.

So what connects the dots between the Global DJ, the teenage Hip Hop prodigy, the Hardcore rave act, the mega selling progressive house act and the solo nu disco offerings of this year’s hit “Starstrings”? Well obviously it’s Jody, but more than that it’s his quest for the perfect beat and bass line, the need to layer the best string, to squeeze the most perfect note from the technology available, to match the best track for the best moment at the right party. And it’s that constant desire for perfection that drives him on and on.

Guitar Player Magazine is calling him “…the blazing wunderkind.” The Boston Phoenix has declared him “…the WOW! factor.” Award-winning jazz guitarist and composer, Jake Hertzog, is making it big in New York City.

As Jake prepares to record his second studio album, Patterns, his debut album Chromatosphere still continues to bring him critical acclaim. Chromatosphere, recorded and produced by Grammy Award-winner Joshua Paul Thompson, features some of New York’s top musicians. The album has brought an extensive amount of reviews and press including a five page interview in Guitar Player Magazine highlighting his unique approach and technique to modern Jazz guitar. In September, the Jake Hertzog Trio was invited to his home town of Champaign, IL for a highly celebrated performance at the famous Ellnora Guitar Festival.

Furthermore, he stands as musical director and lead guitarist for Nickelodeon’s The Naked Brothers Band stars, Nat and Alex Wolff. They just concluded their second national tour, “Summer Road Trip Tour ’09″ and have performed on national television shows including Good Morning America, The View, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, The Today Show and many others.

Past achievements include winning the Grand Prize in 2006 for the Montreux Jazz Guitar Competition in Switzerland. In the festivals 44-year history, he holds title at 20 years old as the youngest ever prize winner. He was invited back in 2007 to showcase his original music in the Montreux Jazz Festival. Jake is an Alum of the prestigious Berklee College of Music and recipient of several performance scholarships.
