Zion Train have been one of the planet’s most prolific groups, producing everything from music to magazines, CD-ROMs to Internet sites to sound systems. Their early releases were on Universal Egg, until in 1995 they signed to China Records; when they released the world’s first promotional dub music video for the ‘Get Ready’ single. Back on Universal Egg since 1999, they have continued to release quality dub, electronic, experimental drum and space and world dance music.

Their work from the past decade still sounds fresh to today’s discerning ears. Their recorded output is prolific eight albums in 12 years and innumerable production credits, remixes and song writing collaborations. 2001 saw Zion Train celebrate their tenth anniversary as a band and as curators of Universal Egg.

The first peak is the best place to pause and look back, to see if you took the easiest route, to learn the lessons from the first climb. And it is the best place to examine the terrain ahead, to decide if you will change your plans or goals, beofre you to take a deep breath and begin climbing again.

Theatre of Disco are a band that exist to perform. They’re brand of indie meets live electro was first unleashed in Europe after founding members James Brennan and Oli Chang (formerly of Ubin) met at a squat party in London. It didn’t take long till the boys had a set of songs together and were busting their live cherry together at Golden Gate in Berlin.

Shows at European clubs, theatres and house parties followed playing alongside the likes of Ratatat, Fantastic Plastic Machine and Hannah Holland with enough momentum building that on their way home to Australia they were booked for a tour of Japan which included gigs at mega venues like Club Yellow.

From the euphoric guitar and synth blasts of ‘Oke’ to the lyrical sleaze of ‘On The Train’, each track on this record takes in different influences then spits them out as electro-pop bombs, just in time for some dumb fun on the dancefloor, and with enough soaring synths and squelching basslines to power the biggest game of Pac Man in history, this EP may well be the sound of summer.

Our lives are always changing and evolving from day to month and year, sometimes in very minute ways and other times in more dramatic ones. Change is inevitable, and we can choose to be someone who; makes change happen, watches change happen or one who wonders what happened. We all have a choice to decide which group we want to be in.
