Greg Dowling and Shane Johnson have been playing records in public since the late 1980s. Their residency at Irelands longest running and best known house club, Sweat at Sir Henrys in Cork, spanned more than a decade and influenced a generation of Irish clubbers and DJs.

The duos CV also includes a six-year stint on Cork’s Radio Friendly, where their Saturday night show was one of the most popular on the station. Since early 2004, they have hosted the Go Deep show on Red FM and have also contributed numerous mixes to Irelands national music station, 2fm, Dublins Spin FM, Nova (Paris), FMR (Toulouse) and Planet Soul (Toronto).

Greg and Shane’s production work under the Fish Go Deep name has been enthusiastically received in recent years, earning praise from deejays, dancers and journalists around the globe. In recent years, Fish Go Deep tracks have been included on dozens of compilations, on labels in the US, Canada, UK, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Ireland, South Africa and Asia.

Traditional Chinese instruments meet Hip-Hop & Jazz in an experiment in cross-cultural soundscapes, “The Shanghai Restoration Project” draws its creative inspiration from the old 1930s Shanghai jazz bands, an early combination of East and West that’s become an international legend. The Project revives this exotic blend by introducing Eastern instruments and rhythms to the Western sounds of hip-hop, jazz, and pop.

The Shanghai Restoration Project debuted as MSN Music’s “New Artist of the Week” in early 2006 and became the #1 selling electronic album on the site during the month of January.

Since then, it has appeared in iTunes’ Top 20 Electronic Albums in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, Europe, and Japan, where the project was featured as the “Single of the Week” in November 2006.
